How a printed pattern reaches you

Digital or printed
Every pattern is sold as a digital download. Some are also sold printed, which is a different thing entirely and worth being clear about.
Digital arrives immediately. The files are sent to the email address you use at checkout, and there is nothing to post, so none of the rest of this page applies to you.
Printed means full-size sheets, printed here, so there is no tiling and no taping. You still get the digital files straight away — you can get your fabric sorted while the paper is in the post.
The Friday run
Printing happens in batches, once a week. Everything ordered during the week is printed, packed and taken to the Royal Mail parcel point together.
Order before 9am on Friday and you are in that week’s run. After that you are in the following Friday’s. The countdown on each product page is running against exactly this cut-off, so it will always agree with this page.
Occasionally a run slips to the Tuesday if the week has been heavy. That is the only regular exception.
What actually gets printed
Each pattern is prepared individually. Depending on the garment that is anywhere from one large-format sheet to five.
Because everything is printed to order rather than pulled off a shelf, timing can move a little with order volume and with studio restocking — paper and ink run out like anything else.
Post and tracking
Everything goes Royal Mail, and most orders go tracked.
Where there is tracking, it is sent automatically to the email address used at checkout. Check your shipping confirmation — and your spam folder, which is where it usually is.
How long it takes
Once a parcel is handed over, the timing belongs to Royal Mail. UK orders are usually a few days from dispatch; international takes longer and varies a great deal by country.
Things I cannot do anything about, said plainly rather than buried:
- Postal strikes, backlogs and general carrier disruption
- Customs processing and any duties charged on arrival
- An address entered incorrectly at checkout
Getting the address right
Please check your address before you pay. If a parcel comes back because the address was wrong or incomplete, sending it out again costs postage again, and I may have to ask you to cover it.
If you spot a mistake straight after ordering, message me. If it is before the Friday run I can almost always fix it.
If something goes wrong
Downloads that will not open, files that never arrived, a parcel that has gone quiet — message me on WhatsApp and I will sort it.
It helps if you send your order number, the pattern name, and the email you used at checkout.
One thing worth knowing: if you tapped through from Instagram, the in-app browser can silently block a PDF download. Open the link in Safari or Chrome and it will work. This is the single most common problem I get asked about.
