Who you are dealing with
This site is run by Roughcut MYOG, an independent studio in the United Kingdom. Buying anything here, or using the site, means you accept these terms.
You need to be 18 or over to buy, or to have a parent or guardian doing it with you.
What you are actually buying
A licence to use the pattern. You are not buying the design itself, and ownership of it does not transfer.
Every pattern, instruction sheet, film, photograph and piece of artwork on this site is my work and remains my intellectual property.
What you can do with a pattern
Build it. Make it for yourself, for friends, for family. Cut it about, change it, combine it with another pattern, take it somewhere I never intended. That is the entire point.
Sell what you make. Sell garments you have made by hand from these patterns. You do not need my permission and you do not owe me a royalty. Credit is appreciated, never required.
The files stay with you. Do not share, sell, forward or upload the files. Not to a friend, not to a group chat, not to a file-sharing site.
Handmade means handmade. Do not use these patterns for factory or mass production, and do not copy, trace, redraw or digitise them to sell as your own. If you want to produce at scale, ask me — the answer is not automatically no.
Prices, products and changes
Prices, descriptions and availability can change, and patterns are sometimes updated or retired. If you have bought a pattern, you keep it and you keep the updates to it.
I try hard to keep the site accurate. If something is listed at an obviously wrong price because of an error, I may cancel the order and refund you rather than honour it.
Getting your order right
Please check your details at checkout, particularly your email address, since that is where the files go, and your shipping address if anything is being posted. Parcels returned because of a wrong address may cost postage again.
The shipping policy covers timing, dispatch and delivery.
The community
The WhatsApp groups exist so people can help each other build. Be decent to each other. Do not post paid files. Do not use the group to sell your own competing products.
I will remove people who make the group worse, and I will not always explain myself first.
What I am not responsible for
These are sewing patterns, not a guarantee of a finished garment. I cannot be responsible for how a pattern is cut, sewn or fitted, for the fabric you chose, or for a garment that came out too big because a measurement was taken wrong.
Sewing involves needles, blades, irons and machinery. Your safety while using them is yours to manage.
Nothing here limits my liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow to be limited.
Law and changes
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts there have jurisdiction.
I may update these terms. The version on this page at the time you order is the one that applies to that order.
