Edo Fragments - Japanese Woodblock Patch Sheet

Edo Fragments is a limited-run archival patch cloth created for makers, repairers, and garment builders.

This sheet features a curated selection of public-domain Japanese ukiyo-e woodblock prints from the Edo period, reassembled into a single large-format fabric panel and printed on the same organic cotton canvas used in my own Roughcut Relics.

Designed to be cut, frayed, layered, and reworked, each fragment becomes part of your own garment’s story — whether stitched into denim, jackets, bags, workwear, or experimental pieces.

Designed for Use Across Any Project

Edo Fragments is intentionally open-ended. Use it to:

  • Add character to jeans, jackets, and workwear

  • Reinforce worn areas with visible mending

  • Create custom patches for bags, totes, or accessories

  • Integrate historical imagery into entirely new garments

The 300gsm organic cotton canvas frays beautifully, allowing you to leave raw edges or stitch them down for structure and contrast.

Historical Acknowledgement

The artwork featured in Edo Fragments originates from public-domain ukiyo-e woodblock prints created by masters of the Edo period, including artists of the Utagawa school.

These fragments are reproduced in homage to the artisans who shaped one of history’s most influential visual languages — reinterpreted here as material for contemporary making.
